Festivals are special events in Stardew Valley. Each season has two festivals. Mayor Lewis will send the player a letter in advance of each festival, describing when and where it will take place.

On the day of the festival, a pop-up on left-hand side will let you know when the festival has begun.

It would appear that time does not pass in any way during a festival, so feel free to take your time exploring and talking!

Spring
Egg Festival
:Main page: Egg Festival
The Egg Festival takes place on the 13th of every Spring. You can enter the festival at Pelican Town Square between 9:00AM and 2:00PM. When you leave the time will be 10:00PM.

The villagers and the player participate in an Egg Hunt. This starts by talking to Mayor Lewis. The player must gather 9 colored eggs (in 50 seconds, real time), or else Abigail will win. If the player wins, they will receive a Straw Hat as a reward. If they already have this, they will receive 1000.

There is a booth set up where the player can purchase a decorative Plush Bunny and Strawberry Seeds (in the first year, you will be able to harvest strawberry two times before Summer).

When the festival ends, you will be returned home at 10:00PM.

Flower Dance
:Main page: Flower Dance
The Flower Dance event takes place on the 24th of every Spring. You can enter the dance at Cindersap Forest between 9:00AM and 2:00PM. When you leave the time will be 10:00PM. It takes place across the bridge south of Wizard's Tower in the far west of the forest.

There is a booth set up where the player can purchase a Dandelion, Daffodil, Tub o' Flowers and #5.

In this festival you can dance with one of the bachelors or bachelorettes if you talk to them and invite them to dance, but you must have at least four hearts of friendship with them first. You can talk to the other villagers and they will have event-related dialogue. Bachelors & bachelorettes do not have this dialogue, until you have successfully invited someone to dance, since talking to them will be treated as an invitation.

Dancing will increase friendship with your partner by 1 heart (250 points).

Once you talk to Mayor Lewis, the dance begins.

When the festival ends, you will be returned home at 10:00PM.

Summer
Luau
:Main page: Luau
The Luau takes place on the 11th of every Summer. You can enter the Luau between 9:00AM and 2:00PM at The Beach.

This festival does not have a booth.

People of the town bring different ingredients to prepare a soup for the Governor; talk to Mayor Lewis to end the festival.

Depending upon what type of produce you supply for the soup, there will be different reactions from the Governor and Mayor Lewis. The outcome will increase or reduce friendship points with all villagers.

When the festival ends, you will be returned home at 10:00PM.

Dance Of The Moonlight Jellies
:Main page: Dance Of The Moonlight Jellies
The Dance Of The Moonlight Jellies takes place on the 28th of every Summer at 10:00PM at The Beach.

This festival does not have a booth.

The Villagers gather at the docks in order to watch the jellyfish migrate. Talking to Mayor Lewis ends the festival.

When the festival ends, you will be returned home at 12:00AM.

Fall
Stardew Valley Fair
:Main page: Stardew Valley Fair
The Stardew Valley Fair takes place on the 16th of Fall every year. You can enter the fair between 9:00AM and 3:00pm at Pelican Town. When the festival ends, you will be returned home at 10:00PM.

There are several games where you can gain Star Tokens, a currency that can be exchanged for prizes at the Shop near the entrance to the Bus Stop.

The Fair also has a contest where you can show the products of the farm and gain Star Tokens. Talk to Mayor Lewis when you're ready to have the products judged. Items displayed in the booth are returned. It is suggested to have gold starred items to gain a larger prize.

The player can eat the food to refill their energy bar, but this won't be noticeable till you exit the festival.

Spirit's Eve
:Main page: Spirit's Eve
The Spirit's Eve takes place on the 27th of Fall every year. You can enter Spirit's Eve between 10:00PM and 11:50PM at Pelican Town. When you leave the festival, you will be returned home at 12:00AM.

There are multiple tables laid with spreads of food, which can't be eaten by the player, unlike in the Stardew Valley Fair.

The festival features a maze where it is possible to obtain the Golden Pumpkin. Pierre has set up a shopping booth where the player can purchase festive items including a rarecrow, a Jack-O-Lantern, and a Jack-O-Lantern recipe.

The maze is located to the north of Pierre's festive shop. The maze has few dead ends and progresses in a nearly linear fashion. The player has as much time as they need to navigate to the finish. Towards the end of the maze, in the northwest corner of the map, the player must walk through a block of hedge to the left of a wooden sign with a question mark. Once through, the player must go north through an open cavern and continue east to get to the Golden Pumpkin.

In Cindersap Forest there will be ice sculptures and igloos set up. There's also an Ice Fishing Contest you can take part in along with Pam, Willy, and Elliott. Getting at least five fish in the first year will win you three tackles and a Sailor's Cap

Feast of the Winterstar
A week beforehand on the 18th, Mayor Lewis will send a letter telling you who your gift recipient is. There's still a mysterious Stardrop story told by Willy in which the requirement on getting it is still unknown.
